EU-CONEXUS European University for Smart Urban Coastal Sustainability is a fully-fledged transnational European University offering joint education, training and study programmes, joint research and professional development opportunities for all of its staff, researchers, and students.
SETU is a partner along with eight other universities: La Rochelle University, Catholic University of Valencia, University of Zadar, Agricultural University of Athens, Frederick University, Technical University of Civil Engineering Bucharest, Klaipeda University, and University of Rostock.

“Smart Urban Coastal Sustainability” (SmUCS), focuses education, research & innovation, and knowledge-sharing activities on defining, understanding and addressing societal challenges experienced by communities from urban and semi-urbanised coastal regions (rivers, seas and oceans).
By providing sustainable, smart, nature-based solutions, EU-CONEXUS can achieve key sustainability goals, reduce the impact on the coastal ecosystems, respond to present challenges and anticipate future ones.

SETU students can take one or more modules from either of the two minor programmes listed below in order to enhance their skills, learning and to enable international collaboration while studying their SETU full time programme.
Both Minor Programmes – Coastal Development and Sustainable Maritime Tourism and Blue Economy and Growth are made up of five thematic areas, each module is worth 6 credits.
EU-CONEXUS offers mobility opportunities for the research staff of its nine partner universities within the Alliance as well as internationally.
Funds are also available to invite external experts to EU-CONEXUS universities including Université La Rochelle, Agricultural University of Athens, Technical University of Civil Engineering Bucharest, University of Klaipeda, Universidad Catolica de Valencia, University of Zadar, South East Technological University, University of Rostock and Frederick University.
The EU-CONEXUS community brings together researchers, teachers and students from the different partner institutions and aims to foster internal collaboration between them by offering Seed Funding.
The overall objective of the Seed Funding is to enhance collaboration between EU-CONEXUS partners in education, research and innovation towards global challenges.
