A micro-credential is a short, accredited module for professional development which can be taken by undergraduate students. The EU defines a micro-credential as the record of learning outcomes that a learner has acquired following a small volume of learning. The learning experiences in micro-credential courses are designed to provide the learner with specific knowledge, skills, and competences that respond to societal, personal, cultural or labour market needs. Micro-credentials are owned by the learner, can be shared, and are portable.

The EU-CONEXUS extra-curricular micro-credential courses focus on the topic of Smart Urban Coastal Sustainability. Students can take 1 ECTS courses on topics linked to sustainability, topics that complement their current studies or areas of emerging importance such as:

  • Artificial intelligence and cyber security for ports and shipping organisations
  • Green Competences for all
  • Coastal Business Strategies and Legislations
  • Entrepreneurship in Blue Economy
